This is one of the treasured recipes from my mom. The best part is that it is easy but tastes heavenly and nobody will believe that it took you no time and effort to make it. This Payasam/Kheer has light pink color which gives it the authentic pal payasam look.
1/2 Cup - Raw Uncooked Basmati rice
1 Cup - Sugar
4 Cup - Milk
4 - Cardamom
10-12 Cashew nut
2 Tbsp - Raisins
2 Tsp - Ghee /Clarified Butter
- Mix Rice, Sugar, Milk and Cardamom in the pressure cooker and cook for 20 minutes.
- Take the pressure cooker off the heat and keep it for 10 mins or until the pressure has gone.
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry cashew nut and raisins. Garnish payasam/kheer with fried raisins and cashew nuts.

- You get the best results with full fat milk
