Breakfast Pizza with Eggs and Bacon


Remember the previous post on Pizza Dough and my promise to you that I would come up with new and interesting pizza recipes? Here is an easy one "Breakfast pizza" - Now doesn't that sound good? I tried this pizza at home recently and my family loved it. I am so glad to share my kitchen adventures with you.


Yields: 1 extra large pizza

Ingredients
Pizza Dough for extra large pizza (Recipe here)
4 Eggs
1 1/2 tablespoon - Olive oil
1/4 Teaspoon - Dry Oregano
1/4 Teaspoon - Dry Rosemary
1 Clove - Garlic, finely grated
1/4 Cup - Red Onions, sliced
1/2 Cup - Mozzarella cheese
1/2 Cup - Cheery Tomatoes, sliced
Salt and pepper as per taste
Garnish
1 tablespoon - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
5 slices - Bacon, cooked and chopped

Directions
  • Preheat the oven at 400F
  • Roll and stretch the dough and set it on a pizza pan
  • In a small bowl add olive oil, finely grated garlic, oregano and rosemary
  • Using a brush, apply the herb oil mixture on the dough
  • Add the cheese, cherry tomato and onions
  • Crack the eggs on top and season with salt and pepper
  • Bake for 15- 20 minute at 400F
  • Add the cooked bacon
  • Drizzle extra virgin olive oil on top and add the bacon. Serve warm

  5. After your post on freezer friendly pizza dough, I was expecting to see a pizza post next but I wasn't expecting breakfast pizza!! Very interesting and delicious pizza. I am sure its a hit with kids. Wonderful post.

    1. They are red onions.. turned into that color after baking... but some onions retained their red color

    1. Yes Michele, you can make the dough the night before. After the dough doubles punch it down and store it in the refrigerator. In the morning, take the dough out and let it rest at room temperature for 1-2 hours and then add the desired toppings and bake
